'People In The Middle'

Resolving conflict
2 day course

People in the Middle is a 2 day course focussing on resolving conflict and mediation skills for those who find themselves facilitating or mediating between two or more parties, whether in a work, home or social setting. To take this training you must have already completed 3 days training with me (see Communicating With Clarity).

This course will enable you to : -

  • Know how to reach consensus instead of compromise
  • Understand what drives people's actions and trains of thought
  • Use language accurately and eloquent so that people are more likely to understand what it is that you'd like to be understood
  • Learn how to make requests in a way people want to do what you ask them to do, and teach this on to others
  • Separate out needs from strategies/actions
  • Understand the difference between cause-effect and stimulus-response thinking
  • Understand the pitfalls of 'right-wrong' thinking and blame to discover alternatives

The methods you will learn on this course are gathered from a wide range of sources, in particular from the bodies of work of NLP and NVC/NonViolent Communication. The latter is being used increasingly in war, prison, and educational settings around the globe.
